I’m often asked where I get my inspirations from, so wanted to share with you the story behind my square wire collections.
It all started when I was looking to push the envelope with my Double Flower earrings. Although they were still my favorite earrings to make and wear, I felt that the potential was there to create something even more stunning.
At the time, I was experimenting with a new woven metal and glass line based on squares. I couldn't help but wonder what my wire earrings would look like with hard edges instead of the graceful curves that round wire has.
That big "what if" question lingered in my mind until I stumbled upon square wire for the first time. And that's when it hit me - a true "Eureka!" moment.
Admittedly, making jump rings with square wire is no easy feat. But after designing my own tools and processes, the results were well worth it. I love the modern twist it brings to the ancient designs, and the way light reflects off the flat edges of the wire is truly stunning. Check out all of the ways I've found to use square wire so far by looking through the entire square wire collection.
And I wasn't the only one that thought my new square wire designs were fabulous - they have become a favorite with Hollywood stylists. My square wire designs have been featured in several TV shows and movies - including Disney's High School Musical: The Musical: The Series! Browse all of my pieces that have ended up on the silver screen.
So that's the story behind my square wire designs! Sometimes when I get a "what if" question I can immediately see where I'm going.
But sometimes, I just have to sit with the idea for a while before I can find a direction. For these designs, I definitely think it was worth the wait!
I'm all about conscious fashion, so my main priority is to design stunning and timeless pieces using heirloom quality materials. My aim is to create jewelry that not only looks great today, but will continue to be admired for many years to come.
